Kids and Math

The Problem

According to the UNESCO Institute for Statistics, Ghana’s youthful population was 40% in 2016. It is therefore important to equip the younger generation with the needed skills to further develop Ghana. This can start in the classroom. STEM/Mathematics education initiatives are important for the development of a country. However, students’ performance in Mathematics has been considerably low throughout the years. In 2017, 57.27% of WASSCE candidates had a D7 or less with 20.27% of the candidates scoring F9. In 2018, more than 61.67% of candidates had D7 or less with 31.58% scoring F9.

Just as every math problem has a solution (and the solution can be reached using different approaches) Kids and Math adopts the practical approach to help kids realize and appreciate the versatility of Mathematics.
