Hi everyone!
We have had some silhouette glasses purchased from us returned which were lost in M&S food hall. These are a lovely pair of rimless silhouette glasses and were almost thrown out by M&S until they noticed one of our old Larbalestier cloths inside, we are keen to reunite them with the owner if anybody knows someone who has lost their glasses 🤓

Apple recently launched its ‘Screen Distance’ setting for iPhones and iPads. In this article we explain why enabling ‘Screen Distance’ may be beneficial for your child and how this setting could protect against myopia.
Children are at greater risk of developing myopia if they view books or screens closer than 25cm, and continuously without taking a break for 45 minutes or more.
Children (and adults) also tend to hold screens closer than books and print material. This increases the visual demand on the eyes' focusing system.
Apple's Screen Distance setting for iPhones and iPads automatically obscures the screen when held too close, saving you the task of monitoring screen reading distance and nagging your child when screens are held too close.

Myopia (short-sightedness) is increasing. It causes blurry vision, can
affect quality of life and increases the risk to future eye health.
Time spent outdoors is beneficial for physical and mental health in children and teenagers, and has also been shown to reduce the risk of myopia.
Myopia can be delayed or prevented in children by aiming for two hours per day of time spent outdoors.
The activity of outdoor time doesn't appear to matter, as the benefit appears to be the brightness of light stimulating a correct rate of eye growth.
Sun protection is still important, and even if wearing a hat, sunglasses and staying in the shade, the light brightness outdoors is strong enough for beneficial effects.
