A big big show secretary thank you to all and sundry who made Guernsey HOYS the success that it was.

With all the lovely comments received it was another one to remember even though we didn’t have any visiting competitors this year.

The committee have worked tirelessly on the grounds to ensure the going was top notch in every arena, the courses were great, the schedule accommodated every standard, age and capability, the atmosphere was amazing, the jumps were better than ever thanks to the hard work behind the scenes from our ever young Tania who deserves a special mention for the unpaid hours she gives to the club without even being on committee.

A shout out to each and everyone of the hard working committee, judges, cleaners, officials, cake makers, arena parties, caterers, shops, sponsors, competitors, runners - you know who you all are and have been a big part of the show.

Most of all the biggest award goes to the equines that have taken part - whether large or small - as they are the reason we all pull together to put on these events and it has been a pleasure to watch each and every one of them.

Congratulations to Holly Greenslade who won our sponsored class at the British Show Jumping Guernsey Summer Show on Gelligaredig Rolo. Holly was presented with a trophy and rosette by our Clinical Director Sarah-Jane Heathcote. Great to see competitors enjoying themselves on a wonderfully presented show ground. Thanks to the hardworking BS Committee and all their helpers!

Don’t forget entries close at 8pm tonight for our height jumping on Sunday in the Gower all weather arena.

Help is needed in the arena for Steve and a volunteer is needed to do gate duties please for Sarah and I in the bus so please let me know if you can help.

SEAN HOPE is over to train from 14th to 22nd September inclusive at the equestrian venue of your choice - please ensure you are a member of the club where your lesson is held.

Sean Hope is over in Guernsey to train and available from Sunday 5th May until Monday 13th May inclusive for private or group lessons.

I will be taking bookings this time as Teresa is away so let me know your preferred dates and venues to book your slot and please ensure you are a member of he cllub where your lesson will be held.

Please remember that any membership renewals need to have been done as your 2023 memberships have now expired (31st January)

For those entered in the affiliated classes – if you have supplied UK registration numbers it is assumed that you are a fully paid up current member of British Showjumping in the UK. Any non members of BS UK will jump on a free ticket.

Please find attached the class list for the Guernsey HOYS Showing classes on Thursday 25th August.

Start times 8.30am in Airport field and 8am in the all weather.

Non members can collect numbers from the bus on Wednesday or Thursday.

The running order for the show jumping classes will follow shortly.

Please find attached the schedule for the height jumping to be held at BS on Sunday 23rd January starting at 9am.

This event is open to non-members.

Entries must be made via My Riding Life using the link below. Anyone who hasn’t used MRL before will need to register.

Entries must close at 8pm on Friday 21st January and the running order will (hopefully) be issued later that evening.

Late entries may be accepted on the day, at the higher per class cost of £10.00.
