Gori Fortress (Georgian: გორის ციხე, "Goris Tsikhe") is a medieval citadel in Georgia, standing above the city of Gori on a rocky hill.

The fortress first appears in the 13th century records but archaeological evidence shows that the area had already been fortified in the last centuries BC. The fortress controlled major strategic and economic routes and accommodated a large garrison.

Uplistsikhe (cargo სციხეიხე - God Fortress) is an ancient cave city, one of the first cities on the territory of Georgia. Uplistsikhe is carved in a rock located 12 km east of the town of Gori on the left bank of the Kura River. The city emerged at the end of II - in the beginning of the I millennium BC. E., Was finally abandoned in the XIX century and is, therefore, a multi-layered archaeological site, one of the most important monuments of Georgian culture.
