Cave town Khndzoresk.

Just 70 years ago, life was still thriving here. In the 19th century, the population reached around 8,000–10,000 people — it was a full-fledged town.

The suspension bridge was built in 2012. It is 160 meters long and hangs at a height of about 60 meters.

The first caves began to be used roughly in the Middle Ages (5th–10th centuries).

After the uprising against the Ottoman Empire led by David Bek, his associate — Mkhitar Sparapet — turned the Khndzoresk area into one of the key strongholds of resistance. From here, the defense of Syunik was organized.

It was also here, in the Khndzoresk area, that Mkhitar Sparapet was treacherously assassinated in 1730.
