Our first lesson would consistent of reviewing you or your child's current lesson plan and level of understanding. I then focus on going back to fundamentals, filling in the gaps and building a stronger foundation.

I teach solving maths problems from different angles depending on the student's learning style. Whenever the student makes a mistake, I don't immediately call it out as incorrect, but challenge the student with guided questions, so they can get to the correct answer themselves.

In addition, instead of first demonstrating how to solve a novel problem and then making the student repeat the solution with slightly different examples, I first present the student with the problem and give them time to think it through.
