As part of our commitment to keeping patients informed, we would like to share a snapshot of the work conducted by our practice team during September and the many ways we supported patient care throughout the month.

Our practice team works hard every day to provide safe, effective, and compassionate care to our community. While appointments are often the most visible part of what we do, a significant amount of work also takes place behind the scenes to support patients and coordinate their care.

𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀
𝟱,𝟯𝟮𝟱 patient clinical contacts managed by our practice team.
𝟱,𝟲𝟵𝟴 telephone calls answered.
𝟯𝟬,𝟬𝟰𝟭 prescription requests generated and processed.
𝟮𝟬,𝟮𝟵𝟵 items of administrative work managed, including consultant letters, hospital correspondence, referrals, reports, and patient emails.
𝟵𝟭 appointments were not attended.

𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗨𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁
Unfortunately, 91 appointments were missed during September. When an appointment is not attended, it is often too late to offer that time to another patient who may be waiting to be seen.
If you no longer need an appointment, please let us know as soon as possible. A quick cancellation can make a real difference to another patient and helps us make the best use of valuable NHS resources.

𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗨𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗛𝗦 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝗽𝗽
Many patients are now choosing to use the Welsh NHS Wales App to access practice services quickly and conveniently. Using the app, eligible patients can:
✔ Book routine appointments, subject to availability
✔ Order repeat prescriptions
✔ Access a range of NHS services online

Using the app can often be quicker and more convenient than calling the practice, particularly during busy periods when telephone demand is high. It also provides greater flexibility, allowing you to manage your healthcare at a time that suits you.

If you need same-day medical advice, assessment, or treatment, one of the easiest ways to contact us is through our online triage service.
Simply visit the Welshpool Medical Centre website and click on the "Triage" tile on the homepage. Tell us about your symptoms via the health questionnaire, and your request will be reviewed by the most appropriate member of our clinical team.
Using online triage helps us make sure you receive the right care, from the right professional, at the right time.

🟢As the Flu season approaches, Doctor Russell & Partners are inviting you to receive your Flu vaccination at Welshpool Medical Practice.
🟡By having your Flu vaccination administered at your local GP Surgery, the Clinical Team have advantage of holding your medical records allowing for seamless, continual health care.
You will be eligible for a Flu Vaccination if you fall within any of these categories:
🟣All individuals aged 65 and over on the 31st March 2027 (born before 1st April 1962)
🟣Plus, any patients aged 6 months to 64 years who are in any of the following clinical risk groups - please see website for eligibility:

Look at August, our figures are down significantly. This is great news for all.

❌ Patients have an ability to cancel their prebooked appointments at the point of receiving the two appointment text message reminders, telephoning into the practice throughout the day between 8 am - 6 pm, emailing into the practice by using [email protected] or by using the website and clicking on the blue title ‘cancelling your appointment’.
