Great news, well done Warrington!

We are delighted to let you know that Warrington’s Fairtrade Borough status has again been successfully renewed until January 2027! This is due to the work of the Fairtrade Steering Group, supported by Warrington Council, and Fair 4 All played a big part too in providing Sale or Return stalls, speakers and information on Fairtrade.

Volunteering Opportunity at Fair 4 All!
Fair 4 All is Warrington's Fairtrade Shop and is run entirely by volunteers. We are looking for people to join our amazing and friendly team working in the shop in Warrington Market
The hours are flexible and can be from 2 hours per week upwards.

Today we were visited by a member of the Bollin Morris Men who were in town celebrating Thelwall Morris Men’s 50th anniversary - great fun! Karen is holding a pack of our garden incense sticks which are proving very popular. Come and visit our stall for usual gifts - and maybe unusual characters too!

Time to get outdoors? Liven up your outdoor spaces with our mini planters (plants not included, sorry!), decorations and special garden incense sticks. Trish says the incense sticks are brilliant. Visit us in Warrington Market

Paul is the happy winner of our Fairtrade Fortnight raffle - well done Paul! When told that his ticket had been drawn he said 'That's amazing - I've never won anything before!' He now has a selection of fairly traded goodies to enjoy, including coffee, lots of chocolate, dates and mango jam - delicious!

Volunteering Opportunity at Fair4All

Fair 4 All - Warrington's Fairtrade Shop, promotes fair trade and sells fairly traded foods and crafts. We are looking for two or more committed people to join our team running the fair trade stall in Warrington Market.

The tasks covered by the team include ordering goods, displaying them on the stall, organising the rota, recruiting and training new staff, organising sale or return stalls, advertising and promotion (e.g. through Facebook), accounts, general administration etc.

No-one has to do all of these and we divide the tasks between the team according to skills, interest and what is needed.

The hours and location are flexible but would require a minimum of 6 hours per week including at least 4 hours per week at the Market.

Advent calendars are now in, get yours in plenty of time. Divine milk and dark chocolate ones are £4.80 and the Real Advent calendar is £4.20 and comes with a Christmas story booklet. There’s also a traditional non-chocolate version at £3.30. Alternatively try Traidcraft’s new boxed chocolates: mint collection and black cherry creams, and salted caramel coming next week.

Fair 4 All is 20 years old today!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Since being founded by a wonderful group of volunteers on 14th September 2002 the stall has always been situated within Warrington Market and sells a wide range of fairly traded goods, from coffee to chocolate, from mobiles to a huge variety of cards, from incense burners to jewellery.
Some volunteers have been with us from the very beginning, some are more recent recruits - but all are dedicated to helping farmers and producers around the world get a fair price for their goods.

On Friday 24th June Warrington Fairtrade Steering Group held a very successful Fairtrade Wine Tasting Evening at The St Wilfrid’s Parish Centre in Grappenhall. Around 60 people came along and sampled six different Fairtrade wines (white, rose and red) from the Coop, Sainsburys, Tescos, M&S and Waitrose.
As one attendee put it: “A fun, friendly and very informative evening”!
As well as the Fairtrade wines there was a Fairtrade quiz, Fairtrade chocolates to sample and some wonderful cheeses from our Market neighbours Singletons.
Look out for the Fairtrade Mark when you are next buying wine!
