100 β¬οΈ for David Andrew ππ»
Huge congrats to our 1st XV captain, who is set to make his 100th appearance for the 1st XV π
Div arrived in the 2021/22 season from Dumfries Saints as a young workhorse with an endless engine, epitomising the term βengine roomβ.
In his first season, David went on to win the Premiership as a crucial member of the squad, starting in the final π
As the seasons have gone by, David has grown not only as a player, but as a leader. Div was named 1st XV captain for the 2025/26 season and has led the boys through an important time in the clubβs history, leading from the front with his irreplaceable work rate and powerful performances πͺ
Dave is a fan favourite around the club and is always happy to talk away to fans, members and supporters about the game and season π
David has also been a regular inclusion in the Glasgow & The West district setup, winning the championship last year and coming close in two other competitions π He has always represented the club brilliantly during his time at Marr, also featuring for Glasgow Warriors βAβ versus Ayr in the Super 6!
We cannot thank and congratulate David enough for his contribution and commitment to the club over the years, and we cannot wait to see what he does as captain over the next 100 caps!
Congrats David, a true purple and gold legend π«‘ππ
Marr 1st XV player Calum Inglis had this to say:
Div has been a constant and crucial cog in the engine room throughout his time at Marr. A player you can always rely on, he has been a constant source of energy, commitment and consistency for the club, both on and off the pitch.
It has been an absolute pleasure to play alongside him and, more importantly, to see the big man reach the incredible milestone of 100 caps for Marr.
Over the last couple of years, Iβve had the privilege of seeing Div step into a real leadership role. His reliability, integrity and willingness to lead by example are qualities that make him not only a great captain, but a great person to have around the club.
A fantastic player but above all, a top guy.
100 caps β thoroughly deserved. Congratulations, Div
Lots of love shingles x
