Working within areas of historical interest always brings an added level of consideration, particularly when introducing contemporary materials and glazing into an existing setting.

For this extension, the aim was to create something modern and light filled while still respecting the character of the original property and its surroundings. The combination of anthracite aluminium, natural timber detailing and traditional roof tiles achieves that balance beautifully.

The installation includes a combination of Origin OB36+ Soho doors and OW70 windows, all helping to open the new spaces to the countryside views and draw natural light deep into the extension.

This recent installation in Beaconsfield features four sets of Origin OB36+ bifold doors, with three opening up the ground floor living spaces and a further set installed at first floor level.

Using bifold doors at first floor level is a brilliant way to maximise views, bring in more natural light and create a stronger sense of openness within the home. They also help improve ventilation during warmer months, while externally, repeating the glazing across multiple elevations creates a much more balanced and architecturally cohesive appearance.

A really smart entrance taking shape on this project 🧡

This Spitfire S-100 entrance door has been finished in Irish Oak, paired with a Heritage Townhouse chrome handle and bespoke flag sidelights, creating a design that feels both contemporary and warm against the brickwork and timber detailing.

The natural oak finish works beautifully here, while the black glass detailing gives the door a sharper, more architectural feel without overpowering the frontage.

As with all Spitfire Doors Limited entrance doors, behind the design is some serious performance too, with impressive security, thermal efficiency and build quality all coming as standard.

Phase two of our Wiltshire project 🧡

This stage of the installation featured Origin OI30 internal doors throughout the home, including single doors and French doors.

The contrast between the contemporary steel-look glazing and the character of this 200 year old manor house works beautifully. Rich interiors, traditional detailing and darker tones give the home a huge amount of warmth, while the glazing adds structure and definition without taking away from the original feel of the property.

A home gym with a seriously impressive view 🧡

The first phase of our project in Wiltshire included a full Smart windows and doors installation, alongside an Origin double front door.

Surrounded by views across the property and opened up with large sliding doors, our client’s home gym feels bright, calm and properly connected to the outside.

Not a bad place to train, especially on a day like this!
