Take a step back to Spring 1978 and have a look at one of the very first full staff photos ever taken at Denefield.
Now we need your help. Do you recognise anyone in this photo? Perhaps a teacher who shaped your school days, a colleague, or even a face from your own family. Drop a name in the comments and help us put the story behind every face.
Every name you add helps us build a richer picture of Denefield's first chapter as we celebrate 50 years.
This photo was kindly shared by Ian Parsons (English Department).

The front of Denefield School, looking a little different from how it looks today. We are not sure exactly when this photograph was taken, but we love how it captures a moment in the school's history.
If you were a student or member of staff at Denefield, you will know this view well.

A sixth form group photograph taken during Mr Mike Scott's time as Headteacher — so somewhere between 1985 and 2000. Look at those faces, those smiles, those hairstyles!
Do you recognise yourself or someone you know? Can you tell us the exact year? Drop a comment or tag a friend or get in touch with us via [email protected].

What a way to celebrate Sir David Attenborough's 100th birthday!
Recently, our students transformed tutor group doors across the school into wonderful displays of habitats, wildlife and the natural world. Every display was judged on creativity, accuracy, visual impact and teamwork.
Our winners are:
Best overall display: K-LMY (Whales)
Most creative: K-SMP (Tigers)
Most informative: N-LAN (Red Pandas)
Sixth Form choice: N-LBE (Black Spider Monkeys)
Special mentions go to S-GPE, K-VAN, L-EGH, N-CTS and L-MSH.
Thank you to all staff and students who supported the competition and helped make it such a success.
You can see more of these brilliant displays on our website.

Congratulations to our Year 13 A Level Drama students on a brilliant set of exam performances.
Our students performed extracts from 5 Le****ns Eating a Quiche, a sharp and very funny comedy set in 1956. The piece demands precise comic timing and bold, committed performances, and our students rose to the challenge superbly.
The performances received excellent reviews from our examiners and audiences, and we now look forward to some fantastic results for our Drama students.
Thank you to everyone who came along to support them.

Congratulations to our Year 11 GCSE Drama students, who delivered a wonderful set of performances this term.
Over the past few weeks, we have welcomed our GCSE Drama examiners and parents into school, and our students showcased extracts from a range of plays, from The Threepenny Opera by Brecht to Gloria by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins.
The performances received excellent reviews from the audiences, and we now look forward to some fantastic results for our Drama students.
Thank you to everyone who came along, and in some cases joined in with the performances too.
