Peebles Netball

Some match play from tonight’s training session with the U13 Kites and U15 Falcons 🏐

Both squads putting our ball skill drills into practice and building confidence as teams!

We also had some of our U15 players umpiring the matches, being shadowed and supported by Coach Morven. A brilliant opportunity to develop their understanding of the game, decision-making and confidence off the court! 🙌🏼

Falcons were up against a strong Clydesdale team who put Falcons under pressure. Falcons fought hard for their goals and kept up fighting throughout the match. They supported each other on court and when they used strong passes and good timing, they got well deserved goals. Lots to work on but this squad who show a lot of potential, with their positive attitude and willingness to learn, we look forward to seeing them develop. OPOM - Isobel, her first match and a strong performance in defence. CPOM - Lois, who kept her head up and fought hard in defence and is vocal in her positive support of her teammates.

Peebles Kites faced a strong Bridge of Earn side in their opening match of the CNA league. Peebles new, young team worked hard throughout the match and showed good resilience in fighting until the final whistle. Lots to work on and lots learned from their first match experience. OPOM - Neave, who fought tirelessly in the mid court. CPOM - Summer, who proved a strong GK with several good intercepts, good decision making and controlled support play bringing the ball up court.

Congratulations to Cerys Finn, former PNC member, on making the Scottish Thistles Leadership Group!!

On Saturday our Falcons game up against Kinross Flares, In their first match of the season!

Whilst it was not a win, the team displayed some really lovely passages of play.

Considering we did not have a full team, and the girls are still learning how to gel as a new team, I think they did extremely well to put up with the pressure from the opposition.

Still lots to work on in training, but it is only the start of the season, so looking forward to watching these girls grow together as a team, and as individuals!

OPOM: India (WD) 👏 very well deserved!!
CPOM: Jess (GA) 👏 for her accurate shooting and movement in the shooting D

Some great opportunities for young and enthusiastic netballers to develop their skills and gain confidence as part of the 'summer of sport.'

Commonwealth Games netball tickes available...

Last week the falcons had their final two matches of the season.

First, they came up against the undefeated Clydesdale fillies, in their Youth cup semi-finals. Despite the scoreline of their last match against this team, the girls were pumped, ready, and gave it their all! The reliance alone is something we as a club are extremely proud of! Sadly, the girls did not win, but the team managed to half the previous score difference which was incredible! The attitude, the play, the commitment, was all amazing to watch!

OPOM: Lindsay👏
CPOM: honestly could not decide as everyone gave it their all! I was so proud of everyone as individuals and as a team 👏

The Falcons’ second game of the week was against Bridge of Earn in their last CNA match.

This game, the team started a little rocky, and took a little longer to get into their usual flow, but once they did, the win was in the bag.
In attack the team worked the ball up the court, by driving in front and communicating where they wanted the ball. Shooters were on fire with the accuracy! And defensively the girls put on the pressure, that resulted in multiple turnovers.

OPOM: Farrah 👏
CPOM: Stella👏 for her incredible defence

What an end to the season! It’s been amazing coaching this squad, like it is every year! The growth is something I always love to witness- as individuals and as a team!

Bring on the 2026/2027 season!!
