Whisky fuelled, heavy-goddamned-metal. We hope to be a tidal wave of loud riffs, dirty beats and heavy goddamn metal.

Down In One was born from a common desire to play loud, party hard and decimate eardrums with groovy, sludgy, heavy metal. We take no shortcuts in crafting our special, old time blend of dirty vocals, filthy riffs, pounding bass and unrelenting drums to get you up and banging your head.

In the meantime, if you want to listen to Gon and a hungover James chat some s**t, Kev of Ready to Mosh very kindly interviewed us! You can check it out here:

Alright so we barely remember how to play our songs and playing in time is more of a wish than an actuality but enough about our last gig, we're back practising again!

We're busy dusting off the cobwebs but hopefully we'll have things to share soon!

Have I ever mentioned just how bad we are at social media? I may have mentioned it...

I didn't want to post anything until we had something to share as I really do hate vaguebooking (BIG THINGS COMING etc), but we are back! Again! Jimmy has completed his march across the US and we're now working on a new EP. We'll hopefully have something to share soon, but for now we do have our Spotify Wrapped to share.

At the start of the year I shared how Mad Gun got added to a playlist, which gave us a massive spike in listeners...it turns out that wasn't just a one off! Ever since Mad Gun was on that playlist we've had a lot of new listeners. How many you ask? Well, in 2023 we had 746 streams, 131 listeners in 19 countries.

This year...fu***ng hell, it's a bit of a jump!

We're so happy that Mad Gun has taken off like it has, the fact that 7000 people this year listened to one of our tracks 10,000 times is insane! Big love to everyone who's been streaming our music this year, we can't wait to share some new tracks and get gigging again!

Well this was some pretty wild news to see today...a goddamn 13,680% increase in listeners compared to the previous month!

As it turns out Mad Gun got added to a playlist on Spotify which got us around 500 listens in one day, so uh s**t, thank you to whoever added us to that playlist and we're glad people seem to have liked the song!

We should really start shamelessly promoting ourselves more 😂

Given the band won't be gigging for a while I figure I'll just spam you guys with memes until I have something better to share 😂

Anyway, here's a rare glimpse into the Down In One recording process, a typical conversation when recording vocals.

We at Down In One just wanted to thank our amazing friends for their continued support and love, your kind words in such beautifully heartfelt messages such as the below mean the world to us 😂

Well it's that Spotify Wrapped time of year again! We've had a fun year playing some great gigs with good friends and to top it off we released the Hold Fast EP back in May!

Just wanted to again thank each and every one of you kind folks for listening to and sharing our music, it seriously means the world to us!

Now unfortunately we also have a bit of a sad announcement to make, we possibly won't be gigging for at least half a year as our resident man who hits things Jimmy will be away. However it's for an incredible cause, Jimmy will be walking the 2200 mile Appalachian Trail in memory of founding Down In One guitarist Jonny Young.

As part of his walk Jimmy is raising money for Movember, so if you can spare it and would like to donate please follow the below link:

As for the rest of us, we'll be figuring out what we can do in the meantime! There's still plenty to do, we may still be able to gig if we can work out how to use a drum machine or backing track, or we may spend the time working on another EP and the next full album. Whatever it is we'll be sure to be less s**t at social media and will keep you guys updated!

Whisky fuelled, heavy-goddamned-metal

Back in 2014 four metalheads woke up with world-ending hangovers and a brand new band. We had simple goals: Play loud, party hard, decimate eardrums. In line with this we called ourselves the only thing that made sense: Down In One.

Since then the lineup has changed but our game has remained the same. We’ve been busy bringing our old-time blend of filthy riffs and pounding rhythm to every stage that would take us, playing festivals, pubs and even an acoustic song on TV (after being reminded many times not to swear on primetime). We’ve been so busy (although it’s more likely due to being a band of utter drunkards) that, in nearly 6 years worth of gigging, we completely forgot to record an album.

Until now. We’ve worked with 7hz Audio to distill our passion and energy into this record and we’ve absolutely loved every second of putting this album together. We hope you enjoy it as much as us, so ladies and gentlemen, charge your glasses for our debut album ONE FOR THE ROAD.
