📢 There are still so many myths about abuse in LGBTQ+ relationships — and those myths can make it even harder for people to reach out for support.
At Equation, we want everyone to have access to clear, honest information. Domestic abuse can affect anyone, and LGBTQ+ survivors deserve to be seen, believed, and supported without judgement!🌈

At Equation, we see every day how vital it is for LGBTQ+ survivors to feel safe, seen, and supported when reaching out for help.
That’s why Pride matters — not just in June, but all year round!
For professional services, Pride isn’t symbolic — it’s essential. It’s about delivering inclusive, trauma‑informed, and accessible support for everyone.
Pride strengthens our practice, and it strengthens pathways to safety and wellbeing for LGBTQ+ survivors. 🌈

Seen the awful news of a global “rape academy”? Here are some actions you can take to support survivors.
[content warning: sexual violence]
In the last couple of weeks, CNN released disturbing news of drug-facilitated sexual assaults that are being actively promoted in online spaces. Journalists exposed global online group chats that men use to help each other drug and sexually assault their partners in their own homes. One site had millions of monthly visits.
Here’s how you can take action to support survivors of sexual abuse.
1. Raise awareness and bust myths. Most sexual violence is not committed by strangers, but by someone that the victim knows.
2. Help survivors get support. Follow Nottinghamshire Sexual Violence Support Services so you can share information about helplines and find out about the signs of "spiking" on our website (link in comments).
3. Speak out. Join national campaigns to tackle misogyny in online spaces. Men can join the White Ribbon Campaign to speak out against men’s violence against women in all its forms.

💜 This week we are proud to have joined three brilliant local events for International Women's Day 2026, standing alongside neighbours, partners, and community groups who are all working to make our spaces safer and more supportive for everyone.
🫂On Friday, we attended OPCC's Event at Albert Hall Conference Centre, on Saturday we attended the Nottingham Women's Centre event and on Sunday we attended the Femme Fair at Sneinton Market.
🙌 For our service, IWD is a chance to celebrate the women in our community and recognise the inequalities that shape many people’s experiences of abuse.
🗣️It’s also a reminder that safety and support must include everyone — men, women, and LGBTQ+ people — and that real change happens when communities come together to listen, learn, and stand alongside one another.
We’re proud to be part of that collective effort.
🙏Thank you to everyone who stopped to talk, shared their stories, or simply showed up. Your voices and your presence matter.
