2021 dewerstone Euro Open update!

Covid-19 doesn't seem to be pi***ng off any time soon, especially to the point where we can all hang out and have some good fun. For us, the euro open is an event that brings everyone together and is a social event at it's heart. So with this in mind we are taking the tough decision to cancel our 2021 event.

This makes us as sad as it does you as we love being able to organise a weekend that brings together such a wide range of paddlers. So our fingers are crossed that the Dewerstone Euro Open will be back and bigger than ever in 2022!

For now, we are suggesting that people put the weekend of the 4th & 5th September in the diaries as a day we all just go for a paddle at HPP, or wherever your local paddle is. This is not an organised event, just date we have a paddle and remember all the events we haven't made it to this year.

Stay safe and healthy all you!

We hope everyone is staying safe in this second round of lockdowns in the UK! Here is a quick little read for you to pass a few minutes in these cold, dark winter evenings!

The most event-less year! An eventless year 2020… what a year! To say its been an eventless year maybe isn’t quite right, there has been a lot of events, from forest fires to corona. What I should have called this should have been more along the lines of ā€˜A year of no kayaking events’, but that doesn’t have the sam...

ā€¼ļøā€¼ļøIMPORTANT UPDATE! ā€¼ļøā€¼ļø

It is with a heavy heart that we must announce the cancellation of the 2020 dewerstone Euro Open.

After lengthy chats, we feel that even if events are allowed to go ahead, we would not be able to meet our vision of the Euro Open. The plan for the event has always been one focusing on the participation and socialisation around the sport. In order to achieve this we rely on high numbers and social contact (and a cracking party from River Legacy).

With all the uncertainty surrounding the country, travel, and events at the current time, we feel the best decision is to cancel the event, and focus all our efforts onto making 2021 even better!

Any entries that people have won in various competitions will be carried over to 2021.

Thank you for understanding, and stay safe!
