💧 Today is World Drowning Prevention Day. If you unexpectedly fall into open water, remember:

✅ Tilt your head back with your ears submerged
✅ Relax and control your breathing
✅ Spread your arms and legs
✅ Use your hands to stay afloat

Even on hot days, lakes, rivers and reservoirs can be cold enough to cause cold water shock. It's vital you learn this life-saving skill.

We wish Denmark’s Christian Eriksen a speedy recovery following his collapse on the pitch tonight versus Ukraine in a World Cup friendly.

He has had an internal defibrillator (ICD) since he first had a cardiac arrest back in 2021. The ICD did its job and although unconscious for a short while, he eventually walked off the pitch. He is now in hospital doing well and has passed his best wishes to all those involved at the scene.

We spend a lot of time busting myths on training courses. Some great advice below.

A busy day for Tony (and Gareth) on Saturday. As it is National Volunteer Week, we just wanted to highlight the great work of local volunteers and one of our own.

Tony focusses on building confidence in all learners whilst keeping a sense of realism, based on experience.

Today we had multiple responders on call in Mansfield & Ashfield.

Gareth and Tony attended two Category 1 jobs (our most serious category) alongside a Category 2 job. Both Category 1 jobs were also attend by the Air Ambulance!

Fantastic example of multiple agencies and crews coming together to try and improve the odds for patients.

And in amongst all that, they still managed to grab a short break at McDonald's!

People are often surprised when we say that we will deliver training at a location of their choosing.

Most of our work is conducted at the work place where we consider ourselves as an extension of the team. We can typically make training viable from groups of 3 up. You just need to have a suitable space for training including chairs, tables and floor space for first aid course’s.

Today we had four volunteer responders on call. Jack and Leonie in Mansfield and Gareth and Tony in Ashfield.

After a steady morning, we managed to get together for some lunch and a catch up!

Tony all set for another First Aid course today. A busy week of fire and first aid training across totally different industries - food distribution, construction and retail.

We pride ourselves on building confidence. Delivery on site at the workplace is what we do and no group too small.
