Johanna Bell and Louisa Clarke are sisters (twins!), who put their heads together during lockdown and started their company Halo caps, providing washable, reusable, personalised scrub caps. Louisa started wearing a scrub cap clinically a few years ago as she was concerned about the splatter and bits getting into her hair when treating patients. The sisters wanted to find a way of adding a further layer of PPE when heading back to clinics, but didnāt want to add to the huge amounts of plastic clinical waste. The idea to personalise Halo Caps with names, job titles and practice logos can about as they wanted patients, and team members, to immediately recognise the healthcare professional behind the mask, gloves, gown and respirator!
Louisa has had a long career in dentistry, qualifying as a dental nurse in 1996 from Kingās College London, before training as a hygienist at The Eastman in 2000.
Johanna has a first class honours degree in psychology and is training in adult mental health nursing.
