💥 DEPLOYED: C COY STRIKES AT GREENFIELDS! 💥

​The 2-Star Recce and Strike Platoon officially deployed into combat for the very first time over the weekend—and what a deployment it was!

​Supported by our special guests, the The Light Dragoons, our cadets were pushed to the limit, learning vital, elite skills directly from the pros. From setting up and fiercely defending their Harbour Area to mastering tactical team movement, these cadets proved they have what it takes.

​Here is what went down behind enemy lines:
​🦡 Day & Night Recce Patrols: Creeping close to enemy forces to gather critical intelligence.
​👁️ Observation Posts: Remaining completely undetected while keeping eyes on the objective.
​🔥 Contact Drills: Acting as a tight-knit fire team when attacked—staying calm under pressure, suppressing the enemy, and executing a flawless withdrawal with zero casualties.

​And of course, for those who were there, they will never forget the legendary Battle of 3-Star Ridge. A hard-fought, solid victory for C Company! 🏆

​Throughout the entire weekend, every single cadet showed immense courage, grit, and resilience. You have done Cleveland ACF proud!

B Company FTX Weekend Part 1

Our cadets have just smashed their latest FTX (Field Training Exercise) Weekend, and the energy out there was absolutely unmissable! From tactical maneuvers to survival skills, B Company brought their absolute 'A-game' to the field, proving once again why Cleveland ACF is leading the way in adventure.

Our adult instructors work tirelessly behind the scenes, giving up their own weekends entirely volunteer-led, to make these events happen safely and smoothly.

🏃‍♀️ Back Our WO2 for the Great North Run!

While our cadets are conquering the field, WO2 Emma Purvis is conquering the pavement! She is one of just five people nationwide running the Great North Run for ACCT UK the charity that directly funds our music, sports, and equipment.

She's training relentlessly with gruelling 13km weekly runs, and she needs our backup. We are appealing to our entire community to contribute generously to her fundraising goal. Every single penny counts toward keeping the cadet adventure alive for everyone!

Celebrating CACF’s Longest-Serving Adult Volunteer: Major Kevin Gibson.

Major Kevin Gibson’s journey with CACF began as a young cadet. Inspired by his positive experiences, he returned as a Cadet Force Adult Volunteer (CFAV) in 1983, beginning what would become more than four decades of dedicated service.

Over the years, Kevin progressed steadily through the ranks, achieving the rank of WO1 in 2000. He was subsequently appointed as CACF’s youngest Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) at the time, serving in the role for an impressive six years—a record that remains unmatched today.

In 2006, Kevin was commissioned, and after successfully completing the Area Commander’s Course in 2011, he became Officer Commanding C Company. During his long tenure in the role, he earned the affectionate nickname “OC G” from cadets and fellow volunteers alike. He later moved into a county appointment as Assistant Commandant, serving for three years before returning to lead C Company once again.

Throughout his remarkable service, Major Gibson has played a key role in supporting both the cadet movement and the wider community. He has contributed to numerous events, including the Tall Ships event in Hartlepool, the Queen’s Green Canopy tree-planting initiative, Armed Forces Day celebrations in Redcar, and most recently Richmond Sunday. He has also devoted countless weekends to supporting Royal British Legion Poppy Appeals and leading Remembrance parades.

A passionate supporter of cadet development in all its forms, Kevin can also regularly be found on the sidelines of sporting events, enthusiastically cheering on cadets and providing encouragement to the staff who organise and deliver these activities. His visible presence and unwavering support have become a familiar and valued part of CACF’s sporting calendar.

A recent highlight of Major Gibson’s long and distinguished career in the ACF was the opportunity to meet Jordan Wylie, the National Ambassador for Cadets, at the recent Mess Dinner Night. The occasion provided a fitting moment to celebrate the achievements of the cadet movement and reflect on the many experiences and friendships gained through decades of service.

His exceptional commitment, leadership, and dedication have had a lasting impact on generations of cadets and volunteers. As CACF’s longest-serving adult volunteer, Major Kevin Gibson exemplifies the values of service, community, and leadership that lie at the heart of the organisation.

🏆 ONE OF THE ELITE FIVE: Back WO2 Emma Purvis on Her Road to the Great North Run! 🏃‍♀️🇬🇧

Cleveland ACF, we have a true powerhouse in our ranks! Our very own WO1 Emma Purvis has been selected as one of just five people nationwide to run the iconic Great North Run this September for the official Army Cadet Force charity, ACCT UK! 😰😱😆💪

When she isn't maintaining the highest standards of discipline and leadership as a WO2 in our County, Emma is putting in the grueling miles behind the scenes. Her selfless service to Cleveland ACF is remarkable, but now she is taking that commitment to a whole new level, pushing her physical limits to ensure the future of our cadets.

💪 The Training is Real. The Dedication is Unstoppable. WO2 Purvis is training relentlessly to represent us on the world stage. Her current weekly regime is massive:

The Long Haul: Crushing a 12–13km endurance run once every week! 🧗‍♂️

The Grind: Powering through two additional training runs mid-week.
