Blood Angels assault intercessor sergeant with jump pack.

The first individual post from the full squad I recently posted, this squad sergeant is my take on a classic model reborn in primaris scale.

One of my favourite old metal space marines from back in the day and the main reason I did this unit.

I cut the knee trims and hip plates off to make it look more like the original space marines, and a bit of cutting and reshaping to the arm throwing the frag gr***de to sit right.
The jump pack itself is a plastic vanguard early edition one, I picked up 15 assorted ones from eBay, and they set it off perfectly, and still look sized well with the primaris body.

A couple of extras added on to give it a more Blood Angels look, the freehand lightning bolt on the knee bad was satisfying to do.

So here they are, completed Blood Angels assault marines squad painted in the 2nd edition Warhammer 40000 style.

I’ve absolutely loved doing this project, this is how I remember my childhood first getting into the hobby, and when I got back into painting last year I just wanted to recreate those memories and nostalgia.

You might notice a certain squad sergeant from the original Angels of Death codex, this was the inspiration to recreate one of my favourite models, in a primaris scale.

There a few cool Easter eggs in here, the roman numerals on one of the shoulder pads scrolls reads as 96, the year date on the back of the original codex I have.

You’ll also notice I’ve cut away all the hip armour plates and the extra knee trims the primaris models have, again I wanted them to look as close to as the early edition Blood Angels space marines as possible.

I’ll do my usual posts of a video and carousel of each marine of the squad as usual, so keep an eye out for those.

Beaky helmet, I take it back, I’ve changed my mind, I’m a fan of them now!

With this squad I’ve made some changes from the primaris bodies I just didn’t like, and I think it makes them look much more retro 2nd edition.

2nd edition vibes are getting stronger as the squad goes…

Blood Angels Terminator sergeant armed with a power sword and stormbolter.

The last model from the 1st of 2 squads of Blood Angels Termiantors recently finished.

Lots of conversion went into this one, the main body is the Space Marine Terminator Ancient model, with lots of Blood Angel upgrades such as the leg and hip plates, shoulder pads and trinkets.

Really going in on the second edition look on these, I painted the lightning bolt on the knee pad last night and it really sets it to give it that feel.

Lots of different kits will be used on these, can you spot the obscurity on this one?

These are part of a commission work and I’ll be jumping back and forth between this standard Blood Angels assault squad and the Death Company squad rather than doing one at a time.

Really looking forward to getting into them all, one made some nice tweaks and changes to the primaris body’s you’ll get to see.
