When I was looking for actors in the Luton area previously for a tricky-to-fill role (a wheelchair user, that time) I eventually found one. So, here goes...

Some minor random bird-attack news to start the long early May weekend. Enjoy!

In all seriousness, the woman was unharmed bar a scratch on the hand, according to the report. She believed the bird had been trying to sn**ch away the coffee cup she was holding as she walked.
Have a great weekend, everyone!

Between my annual round ups of local shows I've seen in the calendar year, I occasionally gush over some that were particularly impressive or introduced me to interesting new writing.

Just a random thought, while you enjoy your seasonal hit of chocolate...

Yes, it's almost five months after the show, but I thought I'd post this lovely piece of online appreciation I just stumbled across. Posted by a friend of some of the cast members, i believe. Amongst the fairly specific casting criteria, I can't say "must sound like Merida from Brave" was in my thoughts but, hey, some performers just bring that little bit extra! 🤣🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Referring to the wording in the post, the production never said it was the first theatre show *of any kind* with a wheelchair user playing the lead. But 3+ years after publication, I believe it remains the only panto script published where the main character is written to be played by a wheelchair user. And, in terms of its debut in October 2025, I believe there was no prior, comparable pantomime production - amateur or professional - to feature a wheelchair user as the title character.
