Voces8 has announced that Virginia Taylor Grabovsky will join the Grammy-nominated vocal ensemble from July 2026.
The American soprano, who discovered choral singing through the Elm City Girls’ Choir and the United Choir School in New Haven, Connecticut, will replace Eleonora Poignant.
She will make her debut with Voces8 in Québec, Canada, as part of the group’s North America tour.

John Butt OBE is to receive an honorary doctorate from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
Musical director of Dunedin Consort and a leading authority on Bach, Butt has had a major influence on how 17th- and 18th-century repertoire is understood and performed today.
He will be honoured at RCS’s summer graduation on Thursday 2 July 2026.

A new study published in The Lancet Digital Health has found that English National Opera’s ENO Breathe programme can improve quality of life, breathlessness, anxiety and respiratory symptoms for people living with long COVID.
The research, carried out by Imperial College London, analysed outcomes from 1,438 participants referred through NHS long COVID services across England.
ENO Breathe is a free online breathing and wellbeing programme developed by English National Opera with clinicians from Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

Hereford Cathedral School, King’s Gloucester and King’s Worcester have launched the Three Choirs Schools Group – a new partnership bringing together three historic cathedral schools.
The group will support shared enrichment opportunities for pupils and closer professional collaboration for staff, while each school remains fully independent.

Sydney Philharmonia Choirs has announced the recipients of its 2026 Conducting Fellowships and Emerging Composer Awards.
Naomi Hnat and Benjamin Crowe have been named as the 2026 Conducting Fellows, with Courtney Cousins and Callum O’Reilly selected for the Emerging Composer Awards.

The Royal School of Church Music has appointed Sarah King as its new Deputy Director for Education.
Sarah, who is currently RSCM’s Education Programmes Manager, will begin the role in June as the organisation looks ahead to its 2027 centenary and a period of expanded education activity.
