COG mounts concert performances of rarely performed operas three times a year at major London venues.

We start chorus rehearsals for Le Roi d'Ys tomorrow with an all day workshop. We then rehearse in Central London on most Mondays & Tuesdays till late March when we join the orchestra & soloists in the run up to the concert on 30th March 2025. For details DM us or email [email protected]

Soloists for our upcoming concert on 30 March of Edouard Lalo's 'Le roi d'Ys' include Thomas D Hopkinson as Le roi d'Ys, Hye-Youn Lee and Maria Schellenberg as his daughters, Rozenn and Margared, and Luis Gomes as Mylio, a knight. We are very much looking forward to working with them on this once very popular, but now rarely performed work.

Chorus Workshop this Saturday, 22 February! Singers welcome!
Join our chorus workshop on Edouard Lalo's 'Le roi d'Ys' in preparation for a rare revival to be given by Chelsea Opera Group at Cadogan Hall on Sunday 30 March. 'Le roi d'Ys' was one of the most popular operas of its day and was performed hundreds of times in France and internationally following its premiere in 1888 at Theatre Lyrique (now Theatre de la Ville) in Paris. Saving Faces
Some members of the COG chorus performed a carol concert last week for the charity 'Saving Faces' at St Bartholomew-the-Great, West Smithfield. This annual event is always hugely enjoyable and it is a pleasure to sing for such a worthwhile charity. Saving Faces - The Facial Surgery Research Foundation - is dedicated to funding and leading research to improve treatment for people suffering diseases, disorders and injuries affecting the face.
