A beautiful setting for our engineers to put 47 fire hydrants to the test!

Our passive fire team, Louis and Finley, have been on site at a prestigious university campus, carrying out fire hydrant testing across all 47 hydrants throughout the site.

Regular testing and maintenance of fire safety infrastructure is an essential part of keeping buildings safe, compliant and prepared for when it matters most.

It was a privilege for the team to carry out their testing in such a stunning setting, surrounded by historic architecture and beautiful grounds.

Well done to Louis and Finley for another job well done!

This week, we’re shining the spotlight on Christian Chavonand, one of our Passive Fire Engineers here at PLP!

Christian takes great pride in his work, bringing skill, precision and a real eye for detail to everything he does. Whether he’s carrying out fire inspections or completing fire stopping works, he always strives for the highest standards and makes sure every job gets the attention it deserves.

Christian is always polite, friendly and professional, he understands the importance of getting the details right and making a difference in every project he’s involved in.

Exciting news for PLP!

We’re proud to announce that PLP is now Excel London’s Official Fire Detection Supplier.

Our relationship with Excel London began back in 2013, and since then we’ve been proud to play a part in the continued development of one of the UK’s leading exhibition and events venues.

As the venue expanded by 25,000sqm, our team supported the project through the installation and ongoing maintenance of its fire detection and life safety systems. We’re now delighted to continue that partnership across the entire 125,000sqm venue, working alongside Excel London’s dedicated Fire Team to help protect the millions of visitors, exhibitors and staff who pass through its doors each year.

The scale of the site and its fire detection infrastructure is impressive, with more than 7,000 field devices, 100+ VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus) systems and over 55km of specialist fire alarm cabling.

For us, this partnership is about more than the size and scale of the contract. It’s a recognition of the trust, technical expertise and long-standing partnership we’ve built with Excel London for over a decade.

We’re incredibly proud to continue supporting such an iconic venue and look forward to building on our relationship for many years to come.

Like father, like son!

We’re delighted to welcome Sean to the team as one of our new Apprentice Engineers!

It’s especially lovely to see Sean joining us and following in the footsteps of his dad, Dan, one of our managers. Having grown up seeing Dan’s career and experience within the industry, Sean is now starting out on his own journey with us.

Sean will be completing his engineering apprenticeship through Obsequios Evolve Academy, and we’re looking forward to supporting him as he learns, develops his skills and builds a career of his own.

We’re sure it will be a very proud moment for Dan to see his son starting out in the same industry and we’re delighted to have them both as part of the team.

Meet our PLP service team 💙

We wanted to take a moment to shine a spotlight on the people who are the friendly voices at the end of the phone and behind the emails!

Our fantastic Service Team: Amy, our Service Manager, and Sarah and Lissy, our Service Coordinators.

Every day, they’re working hard behind the scenes to make sure our customers and clients receive the support they need.

From handling queries and resolving issues, to booking works at sites, coordinating engineers’ schedules, keeping customers updated, making sure jobs keep moving from start to finish, and more!

For our clients of primarily property managers, we know how important it is to have a service team who are responsive, organised and approachable.

Whether it’s a routine job that needs booking in or an unexpected issue that needs sorting quickly, Amy, Sarah and Lissy are there to help keep everything on track.

Their attention to detail, problem solving and commitment to looking after our customers makes a huge difference every single day and we’re incredibly proud to have them as part of our team!

A warm welcome to Lissy Bennett!

Lissy joined us recently as our new Service Coordinator, and she’s become a wonderful asset to the team!

From day one, she’s been eager to learn, quick to pick things up and genuinely interested in understanding not just her role, but the fire safety industry. She’s taken on the challenge of coordinating our engineers and looking after our customers with confidence, efficiency and a great deal of common sense.

For us, having someone friendly and professional on the end of the phone is incredibly important, and Lissy brings exactly that. She’s approachable, helpful and always happy to go the extra mile, while also being confident in her approach.

A big part of Lissy’s journey so far has been the guidance and support she’s received from Amy, our Service Manager, and Sarah, our fellow Service Coordinator. They’ve helped her get to grips with our processes, our customers, our engineers and everything that comes with working in a busy service environment.

Lissy has taken it all in her stride. What’s really stood out is how quickly she’s become part of the team. She works brilliantly with everyone, gets stuck in, gets the job done and brings a positive attitude with her every day.

She’s already proving to be a real asset to the business, and we’re excited to see how she continues to develop and grow within the team.
