Zandra is thrilled to have contributed a Button Flower dinner plate and side dish by her dear friend Carol McNicoll to the Positive Necessities of Life exhibition at William Morris’s Red House 🌺

‘This Button Flower quilted ceramic dinner plate and side dish are part of a 12-piece dinner set, created in 1973 by the wonderful ceramicist Carol McNicoll, featuring my 1971 Button Flower motifs. I have used the set for countless dinner parties over the years and it a treasured part of my home. Both useful and beautiful, it always reminds me of my dear friend, Carol.’ - Zandra Rhodes

The exhibition features objects contributed by designers, architects, filmmakers, politicians, curators as well as people from the local community. Each object is something they feel to be useful or beautiful (or both!). Other contributors include David Chipperfield, Ken Loach, Jeremy Corbyn, Jasper Morrison and many more. The exhibition is curated by Sam Jacob and continues to the end of October.

At Trinity House, discover how DMU students are engaging with the archive as a new and inspiring learning resource.
