On April 12, 2026, just over two months after Mir Shahe Alam took oath as state minister for local government, rural development and cooperatives, Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) awarded a Tk 25.57 crore contract to Ruposhi Rice and Pushti Mills Ltd. The contract was signed just eight days later on April 20.
Contract documents show that the state minister and his son, Mir Shakrul Alam Simanto, together hold 100 percent of the shares in the Bogura-based company.
