Autumn essentials, as they look on the shelves right now.

October arrived and the shop changed with it. Bay and rosemary for the perfect Sunday scent, wafts of woodsmoke and candlelight for the evenings in.

Clare Halifax's screen-printed riverscapes capture some of my favourite London autumn walks, ready for your walls.

Pumpkin garlands and embroidered veg napkins for the table.

And knitted scarves and good socks for the cold walk home.

All in store and online now. Come and find your autumn.

The stock room is filling up fast, and there's plenty more still to come.

We've got weekly drops landing from our makers over the coming weeks, so the shelves are only going to get better from here. New work, restocks of the pieces you keep asking for, and a few things we can't wait to show you. As ever, most of it is one of a kind, so once it's gone, it's gone.

New in on the rail: Caroline Dickinson's hand-printed shirts.

Each shirt starts as a preloved cotton or denim menswear shirt, sourced one at a time and hand screen-printed in Caroline's South London studio. No two are the same, right down to the way the print lands on a collar, a cuff, a pocket.

They're exactly the kind of thing to reach for as the weather turns. Layered over a jumper, worn open, or on their own. And because there's only ever one of each, once a shirt goes, it's gone.

Come and see them in store, or shop the collection online. Link in Bio.

Hello October, and hello to all the new faces who've found us lately.

I'm Luci. Seven years ago I left the art world to start Fodder, because I kept coming back to one idea: that a handmade mug or bowl deserves the same appreciation as anything framed on a gallery wall.

There's so much in a handmade object that a mass-produced one can never hold. The slight unevenness of a rim thrown by hand. A glaze that broke differently in the kiln to every other piece. The quiet fact that a real person, somewhere, made the thing you reach for every morning. Once you start noticing it, it's hard to go back.

That's what Fodder is for. Over thirty independent UK makers, and everything in the shop made by hand, to be used and lived with every day.

Whether you've been here for years or found us last week, I'm really glad you're here.

The last day of September, and the last day that 20% of all sales from our Hope Collection is donated to Hope Unlimited Charitable Trust.

Brutes responded to the rise of AI in the most human way there is. Emma fingerprinted an entire collection of pastel vessels by hand, every mark a person pressed into the clay, a celebration of the irreplaceable human touch in making. Hope, made visible one fingerprint at a time.

There's more from Brutes in this week's newsletter. Earlier this year Emma answered a few of our questions about her new collection and where it came from, well worth a read if you haven't already, find it in the studio sessions on our website.

If there's a piece you've had your eye on, now's the moment.

Next in our Hope Collection makers, Janne Meijer, and her "Flora".

A series of ceramic wall tiles, each painted with an endangered or threatened local wildflower, chosen to draw attention to the fragile biodiversity in our landscapes. For Janne, their survival is where the hope lies: the idea that there's still a chance to protect and restore these species in the wild, despite everything working against them.

The patterns on the handmade frames are drawn from Fair Isle knitting and traditional stitch charts, tying together craft, nature and preservation. It's work that celebrates the landscape and its wildlife, and quietly asks us to notice what's around us, and why it's worth protecting.

Some of you will recognise Janne from behind the counter here at Fodder too, so it's been a particular joy to show her work on our walls.

The Hope Collection is live to shop now, with 20% of every sale going to Hope Unlimited Charitable Trust right up until the end of September.

Next in our Hope Collection makers, Jode Pankhurst and her "Confetti Twigs".

For Jode, there's nothing more hopeful than the first signs of spring after the long slog of dark winter days and nights. So she made wall vases to hold sprigs, shoots and stems, a way of bringing small hopeful pieces of the outside in.

Stoneware, finished with photographic transfers, in two sizes. Every one is individual, labelled A to F, so you choose the exact piece you take home. And like the rest of her work, they're made as a family that sits together but stands entirely on its own, no two ever quite the same.

A quick word on the Hope Tote, which has quickly become the bag I take everywhere! It's so useful.

Illustrated by the wonderful Emma Cantley of , who drew the work from our makers as a part of the Hope Collection in her signature style. One tote that holds the whole exhibition in a series of illustrations.

Like everything in the collection, 20% of every sale goes to Hope Unlimited Charitable Trust, right up until the end of September. An easy way to carry a bit of hope with you, and to give a little too.

Autumn in Hampstead, in no particular order.

The turn of the season is our favourite time up here. The cobbles get wet and shiny, the courtyard does that thing where it's sunshine and rain in the same afternoon, and everything slows down into cosy season.

A few of the places we love. Ginger & White for the best bakes in town and a cosy corner to sit in. Harleys for everything you need for the ultimate Sunday roast. Artichoke for the best seasonal produce, last week's figs were extraordinary. Milah, a new opening we can't wait to try. The Well Walk Theatre for a bit of Hampstead whimsy and culture. And the high street on a grey day, which somehow only makes it lovelier.

And us, of course, tucked down our little courtyard, sunshine and rain and all.
Come and make a day of it.

Next in our Hope Collection makers, Scree Ceramics.

For the Hope Collection, Sammantha Cree made pedestal bowls, offerings raised up on a stem. Structures that support, that lift, that give visibility to the things we hold dear. There's hope in the gesture of it, the act of raising something up so it can be seen and valued.

Gas fired in her East London studio, each one a little different from the last, right down to the final vessel in a toasted clay.

The Hope Collection is live to shop now, with 20% of every sale going to Hope Unlimited Charitable Trust throughout September.
