Enjoy a London experience like no other. Come aboard Flicka, a 100 year old Dutch Barge now on the Thames in central London.

Flicka would have plied her trade on the canals of Holland but has been converted into an amazing floating home.

I don’t know how sailors got scurvy in the past. All they needed was a veg patch on the p**p deck 😂 The bees are liking the leek flowers.

Yesterday’s Valentines meal. Mostly delivered but one couple had a romantic meal and room on Flicka for the evening.

We always get asked if Flicka can move. The answer is yes, and here is her massive diesel engine. However, with Flicka weighing in at 200 tons we have decided not to risk it. We don’t want to take a bridge out and apparently she steers like a cow. 🐮

Onion-Tomato Masala. This took me over 3 hours of slow cooking and is just one of the ingredients of Fridays vegetarian option, Mattar Paneer. This masala adds a real depth of flavour to anything you add it to. Luckily I now have about 2 kilos to play with. 😃

So tonight we have whipped butter beans with garlic and coriander as a base with roasted butternut squash and roasted garlic on top. A dressing of onion, hazelnuts, pine nuts, pumpkin seeds, barberries, mint and red chilli, finished off with dill. Lots of lovely flavours.

This is Chole Bhature. This vegetarian dish is Chickpeas steeped in tea for 24 hours which adds a bit of bitterness. Then cooked with spices including sour tamarind and a sweet onion and tomato masala. Served with paratha. Yum!
