Nice and sunny, innit?

You'd think so. Right now. After getting caught in the rain a billion times again. However, by the time I was on my way home, it was all sunny. I'm actually a bit warm. And could've used my sunglasses... Anyway... Can't say I had a bad day otherwise.

Soare și frumos, nu?

Așa ați crede. Acum. După ce m-a prins ploaia de un miliard de ori din nou. Totuși, pe când să merg spre casă, e însorit. Ba chiar mi-e un pic cald. Și mi-ar fi folosit ochelarii de soare... Oricum... Nu pot să zic că am avut o zi prea rea în rest.

It's raining...

Today it was supposed to rain around 1-2 pm. It's been raining since morning. Every time we went outside, it was raining. Every time I thought it had stopped, it started again.

One funny thing about Copper is that he is certainly a city dog. Cockers should really want to get muddy and dirty. Not Copper. He's avoiding puddles like they're filled with lava. He can't wait to get away from the rain. As soon as we're under a roof, his mood changes immediately.

Don't worry. For my and Copper's mental health, we didn't stay out long. And we shared some watermelon 🍉 when we got back inside.

Plouă...

Azi era vorba că plouă pe la 1-2 la amiază. Plouă de dimineață. De fiecare dată când am ieșit, ploua. De fiecare dată când credeam că se oprește, începea iar.

Ce mă distrează la Copper este că e un câine de oraș 100%. Cockerilor ar trebui să le placă să intre prin noroi și să se murdărească. Nu Copper. El evită bălțile zici că ar fi umplute cu lavă. Abia așteaptă să plece din ploaie. Cum ajungem sub vreun acoperiș, cm i se schimbă starea de spirit.

Nu vă faceți griji. Pentru sănătatea mintală a mea și a lui Copper, n-am stat mult afară. Și am împărțit niște lebeniță 🍉 când am ajuns înapoi acasă.

What is happening?

I always feel like I don't read enough crime novels. I didn't know this was one, but I'm glad it is. I bought it because I had read another book by Mieko Kawakami a while ago and really enjoyed it.

It is also more of a "what happened" than a "who dunnit". Can't stop reading!

Ce se întâmplă?

Merem am senzația că nu citesc destule romane polițiste. Nu știam că asta e cartea asta, dar mă bucur. Mi-am cumpărat-o pentru că citisem altă carte de Mieko Kawakami acum o vreme și mi-a plăcut mult.

De altfel e mai mult un mister ce s-a întâmplat decât cine e criminalul. Nu o pot lăsa din mână!

Midnight

Last night, close to actual midnight, I finished The Midnight Train. Luckily I wasn't on an actual train, bawling my eyes out. I was (just) in my living room.

I read the other Midnight book, the Library, on the plane in 2023. I was exhausted and burnt out after a massive event. I was going through my own "situational depression" and grieving the loss of my Grandma. It broke me into a million pieces. But it also made me realise that despite all that, I was in a very good place. My Midnight Library would be a Youth Club and my Librarian, a Youth Worker.

If the Train would've been out then, knowing myself, I would've read it. And it would've broken me even more. It broke me now, too. I have a talent for finding the right book at the right time. Potentially I might have the talent of recommending books too.

It is a love story. A love story about a love that feels just right. Meant to be.

2 years after our civil ceremony and almost 1 year after our wedding party. 4 years since I lost my Grandpa and 3 years since I lost my Grandma - my favourite love story, the Greek myth of Philemon and Baucis.

I liked the Ghost of Wilbur. I think I would've done/have done/will do the same.

Miezul nopții

Azi noapte, aproape chiar de miezul nopții, am terminat Trenul de la Miezul Nopții. Ca norocul nu eram într-un tren când am ajuns să plâng. Eram (doar) în sufragerie.

Am citit cealaltă carte de la Miezul Nopții, Biblioteca, pe avion în 2023. Eram extenuată și în burn out după un eveniment uriaș. Treceam și eu printr-o "depresie situațională" și eram în doliu după pierderea Bunicii mele. M-a rupt într-un milion de bucăți. Dar m-a și făcut să văd că în ciuda a tot, eram într-un loc bun. Biblioteca mea de la Miezul Nopții ar fi un Centru de Tineret, iar Bibliotecarul, un Lucrător de Tineret.

Dacă era publicat pe atunci Trenul, cunoscându-mă, fix pe asta o citeam. Și m-ar fi rupt și mai tare. M-a rupt și acum. Am un talent de a găsi cartea potrivită la momentul potrivit. Cred că am și talentul de a recomanda cărți.

E o poveste de iubire. O poveste de iubire despre o iubire exact așa cm trebuie. Menită.

2 ani de la starea civilă și aproape un an de la nuntă. 4 ani de când s-a dus Bunicul și 3 de când s-a dus Bunica - povestea mea de dragoste preferă, mitul Grec al lui Filimon și Baucis.

Mi-a plăcut Fantoma lui Wilbur. Cred că aș fi făcut/am făcut/voi face la fel.

Busy, busy day but super fulfilling

It's one of those days when I'm doing loads of different things. Little projects and big projects. And a bit of walking to the office and to home.

Very happy with this day.

O zi plină, plină dar foarte împlinitoare

E o zi din aia în care am de făcut tot felul de lucruri. Proiecte mici și proiecte mari. Și un pic de plimbare spre birou și spre casă.

Sunt tare mulțumită cu ziua asta.

Caught in the rain a billion times

The issue isn't that it's raining today. The issue is that I keep getting caught in the rain... And then as soon as I step into a building, it's sunny. Can't wait to get home.

Problema nu-i că plouă azi. Problema e că mă tot prinde ploaia... Și când calc într-o clădire, iese soarele. Abia aștept să ajung acasă.

Happy walk

Normal London summer temperatures today. Very welcome. And a longer walk up to Point Hill was also very welcome for Copper. He loved a little sniffy time without melting.

Plimbare fericită

Temperaturi normale de vară în Londra azi. Foarte binevenite. Și o plimbare mai lungă până pe Point Hill a fost de asemenea foarte binevenită pentru Copper. I-a plăcut să aibă niște timo să adulmece fără să se topească.

A little cake & coffee & fresh air

It is still hot. But today there was a breeze. And J happened to be in... our neck of the woods. So Copper and I decided to have a little cake and coffee with J by the Thames at the lovely .

Then we went book shopping!

Un pic de tort & cafea & aer curat

Tot e cald. Dar azi avem o briză. Și întâmplător a ajuns J pe la noi prin zonă. Așa că eu și Copper am decis să mergem la o felie de tort și o cafea cu J, lângă Tamisa.

Apoi am mers să cumpărăm cărți!

Survived today. Time to rest

It was somewhat colder which really helped. I'm very low on energy but I can rest now for a couple of days.

Am supraviețuit azi. Acum mă odihnesc

A fost ceva mai răcoare ceea ce a ajutat mult. Am foarte puțină energie dar acum mă pot odihni câteva zile.
