RASA Merseyside
RASA has served people affected by sexual violence in Merseyside since 1986. We will work to your agenda and will do what you need us to do to help you recover.
In that time we have grown, from a small group of women meeting around a kitchen table in Birkenhead, into a highly professional, hugely skilled and expertly qualified group of staff and volunteers working in 4 centres and several outreach locations across Merseyside. RASA works with all individuals who have been victims of sexual violence at any time in their lives. It can be happening now, happ

Our thoughts are with the women affected. We know how difficult it can be to come forward and speak about experiences like these, and we commend their courage.
Patient safety, dignity, and trust must always come first, and it is reassuring to see appropriate regulatory action taken to protect the public
If you or anyone you know has been affected, please know help is available.

This is a deeply concerning case. Patients place enormous trust in healthcare professionals, particularly during vulnerable consultations, and that trust must never be abused.
It is understandably difficult for many people to see that criminal proceedings did not result in a conviction. However, the GMC and Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service have a responsibility to assess a doctorβs fitness to practise using a different legal threshold, and we are grateful that they have acted decisively where serious concerns were found proven.

A GP working in Bootle has been struck off over 'sexually motivated' examinations on female patients.
The medical practitioner had been working as a resident GP at Park Street Surgery in Bootle since April 2022.
But a tribunal has now ordered his immediate erasure from the medical register following allegations dating back to 2015.
The investigation centred on his time working in Scotland under his previous name, Matthew Adam.
The panel found that he touched two female patients intimately during consultations without any clinical justification. One patient attended an appointment for abdominal pain before the doctor moved his hand beneath the waistband of her trousers and underwear.
Her partner told the tribunal that she returned to their car in tears following the distressed interaction.
Dr Jones also admitted to taking explicit photographs of himself exposing his ge****ls inside St Margaret's Hospital in Auchterarder.
The doctor was previously acquitted of criminal sexual assault charges at the High Court in Glasgow in 2021. But the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service operates on the civil standard of proof and found the allegations proven on the balance of probabilities.
Tribunal chair Nessa Sharkett confirmed the panel found no plausible explanation for his conduct towards the women.
The immediate order of suspension and erasure from the medical register was officially imposed on June 9.
