Extra Geography makes its Edinburgh debut!
A huge congratulations to the cast and crew of Extra Geography, which had its UK premiere at the Edinburgh International Film Festival over the weekend.
Shot in North Yorkshire, the film marks the feature directorial debut of Molly Manners (One Day) and stars Marni Duggan and Galaxie Clear.
We’re especially proud to have supported the production through the Yorkshire Content Fund, and to see a film made in our region now meeting its first audiences.
To celebrate, we’re revisiting some of the first images released from the film, capturing a glimpse of Extra Geography and the North Yorkshire locations that helped bring its world to life
Congratulations to the entire Extra Geography team, we can’t wait to see it!

What happens after ScriptEd?
For previous participant Devon Johnson, it meant having the knowledge and confidence to take that next step into the script editing world.
And that’s exactly what ScriptEd is about: developing skills, building confidence and helping emerging editorial talent find their place in the industry.
Applications for the next ScriptEd programme are open now.
If you’re ready to develop your skills, make connections and see where script editing could take you, we’d love to hear from you.

Yorkshire on screen at Edinburgh International Film Festival
We’re delighted to see The State of Us premiering at Edinburgh International Film Festival on 14 August.
Filmed in Bradford in May and June 2025, the production was supported by the Screen Yorkshire Film Office team during prep and filming, with many of our brilliant Yorkshire crew working on the shoot.
Co-directed by Ollie Gardner and Jake Harvey and starring Frances Barber, Sam Bottomley and Sunetra Sarker, The State of Us follows Frankie as he breaks out his best friend Taylor for one final night out. What follows is laughter, heartbreak and home truths as their friendship faces the ultimate test.
A huge congratulations to everyone involved. We’re always proud to see productions made in Yorkshire heading out into the world. If you are in Edinburgh for the Festival, be sure to check it out.
