And I'm back again
Reservation wait till for first sitting was 6 months.
Price is €65
There is a big renovation going on which will be completed by 2028
Queueing system the first sittings were lead into a make shift cabin and each room had a queueing line.
Although we arrived second in line, we were the 5th group to be lead in
We entered by what used to be the corridor for the toilets
And was greeted with a
*Welcome back to Les grands buffet*
Food was very very slightly different.
Truffle is in season so they're were a few truffle themed food happening.
Also the section where cooked food is which used to be there section one of each seafood, meat and veg is now just two section with a live egg and truffle station and a soup with puff pastry.
As I have previously been, I advised my friends to head straight for the cooking station. And took advantage.
This time I noticed that the popular stations like lobster and foie gras pate had staff posting and handing food over rather than you getting it yourself.
Was it as good as I remember?
Yes and no. Yes meaning I got to try a lot more food from the cooking station. No, believe it or not the food was only just luke warm.
And once again come 8.30pm and the buffets is absolutely rammed with people
However one plate stood out for me and that was the foie gras platter absolutely loved it especially the creme brulee foie gras pate that I regret not trying last time I was here

Would I go back?

I would, when they finish the renovation which I look forward to

new pork schnitzel £3.99 for two (yes would buy again) roasted baby potatoes and homemade cheese cause with smoked belly pork slab

Stir fried Prawn pasta

Roast beef rib

And a beef Bun *pho*

Returned to cafe Vie in Ossett fee weeks after trying it out for the first time.

And as soon as we saw someone the service was outstanding and as good as I first remember.

Manager remembered me and asked about my sis... When she would be back again

Food is really good... Quality ingredients.

Yes it's NOT CHEAP

However when food and service is good it is worth paying.

P.s super dog friendly. They love dogs!!!

Inspired by the Pearl Barley course from The Gourmet Dining Room

Managed to get my hands on a pack of pearl barley.

Made with vegetables , truffle oil and cheese and topped off with my homemade chilli oil.

Just as I remember, the al dente feel and flavours
..As a negative, didn't need that much vegetables 🤣😝😊

Annual birthday dinner at Home Restaurant
Home has recently had a renovation. Whilst still having the homely feel it has had a modern uplift.
This is still my favourite Chinese

weinholt - annual 3½ hour round trip drive for bakery. Service wasn't on par on this occasion. Was served by the lady who chatted over array of cakes inches from her mouth. Her service was cold rather than their usual friendly service. What I mean is after every item we chose she replied in a cold is that it which interpreated to me as rude she didn't want to be there, anything else would be a warmer approach if that's not what she intended to do.
