Leeds Hunters Rugby

Today we remember Mark Bingham and all those affected by the attack on 9/11.

Having been onboard United Airlines Flight 93 and part of thwarting the hijackers from reaching its target, we want to remember what Mark Bingham stood for.

Not just the strength and leadership shown from his actions on 11th September 2001 that resulted in losing his life, but also his legacy in inclusive rugby.

It is a legacy we celebrate and share during the IGR Bingham & Amanda Mark Cup and throughout IGR International Gay Rugby clubs across the world.

We join IGR clubs in his remembrance on the 25th anniversary of 9/11.

Final IGR series of the year, hosted right here in Leeds!
Come down to West Park Leeds RUFC from 10am and watch some great touch rugby. We’ll be hitting the town afterwards from 7:30pm at Blayds, hopefully see you all there!

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of a longstanding friend, Maurice “Mozza” Martin.

Mozza was a staunch supporter of inclusive rugby and a familiar, much-loved face at matches, events and tournaments. His warmth, friendship and unwavering support for the IGR community will be greatly missed.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rest in peace, Mozza. You’ll always be part of our rugby family. 🏉❤️

🏆 LEEDS 2028. WE’RE HOSTING BINGHAM! 🏆

We can finally say it…

Leeds Hunters Rugby has won the bid to host the Bingham Cup 2028 — and the Amanda Mark Cup — right here in Leeds! 🏉🏳️‍🌈

After months of hard work, conversations, planning and dreaming big, we’re incredibly proud to have been selected to welcome the global inclusive rugby community to our city.

We also want to take a moment to recognise the incredible bids from all of the other clubs who put themselves forward to host Bingham 2028: Emerald Warriors, Vancouver Rogues, Orlando Otters, Perth Rams and Spicy Rugby Querétaro.

We know how much work goes into a Bingham bid. We’ve felt it ourselves over the past year, and the work they and the other bidding clubs put into their campaigns is a huge testament to the strength, ambition and passion within our global inclusive rugby community. So while we’re obviously celebrating today, we also want to celebrate everyone who helped make this such a strong and exciting contest. 💜

And now… it’s our turn.

Bingham is about so much more than rugby. It’s about community. Friendship. Belonging. Pride. And showing the world what happens when people come together and create a place where everyone can be themselves.

And in 2028, that place will be Leeds. 💜

Leeds 2028 will also feature a fully inclusive Amanda Mark Cup competition running alongside the Bingham Cup, celebrating the breadth and diversity of our rugby community.

We couldn’t be more excited to welcome players, supporters, families and friends from around the world to Yorkshire.

This is going to be BIG.

LEEDS. 2028. LET’S GO. 🏉🔥

IGR International Gay Rugby

Yesterday's events at Berlin Pride are heartbreaking. Our thoughts are with everyone affected, those injured, those grieving, and the entire LGBTQ+ community in Berlin after this horrific attack.

We stand in solidarity with our friends at the Berlin Bruisers, who share our values of inclusion, respect and community, and with every person who came together simply to celebrate who they are.

Hatred and violence will never define our community. We will continue to stand together, support one another, and proudly defend the right for everyone to live openly, safely and authentically.
