Challengers
Challengers is a charity dedicated to transforming the lives of disabled children, young people and their families through the power of play ✨
Challengers is a registered children's charity, established in 1979, dedicated to providing exciting and challenging play and leisure opportunities for disabled children and young people. We do this through our play and youth centres in Guilford and Farnham and through our range of community based projects across Surrey and, increasingly, the surrounding areas. Supporter Phil Tennant is taking on his first ultra marathon for Disability Challengers! 🏃♂️
"We all have our challenges and mountains to climb, but once you get to the top, the views are amazing!"
After Phil completed his first half marathon in October 2024 and the London Marathon in April 2025, he was inspired by a friend’s epic Arc of Attrition 100-miler to push further.
As a result, this Saturday 20th June, Phil will be taking on Race to the King— a scenic 50km route around Chichester Harbour and the South Downs in support of Challengers.
His goal is to raise £500 to support the vital work we do for disabled children, young people and their families.
If you are inspired by what Phil is doing and want to support him, you can donate here: https://ow.ly/bqui50ZcbXx
If you, or your team, are ready to take on a challenge in support of Challengers, there is no better time than now. Let us know what challenge you would like to tackle in support of Challengers and we'll support you every step of the way.
Good luck Phil, the view from the top will be amazing. 🧡💪

You may remember our lovely gnomes Colin and Helen, which we have announced earlier in the year.🧡
From their distinctive orange design to the careful craftsmanship that goes into each one, these gnomes are more than just decorations – they are helping to make a difference for disabled children and young people.
We caught up with Julie, the artist behind the gnomes, to talk about where the idea came from, what inspires her work, and why supporting Challengers is so important to her.
