What a lovely session report and photos 📸 from Natalie - Comets Lead : "It was a fresh start on Sunday for our Comets team, but we soon got warmed up!
Luke our coach set the scene for our first part of the session the traffic light game, where the kids have to follow instructions to run, walk and stop, depending on the colour of the cones that were held up. The kids did really well, practising stopping the ball by placing their foot on top of the ball. This practice is about listening, watching and skills, ensuring the ball doesn’t go too far. One of the observations from Eric was that it wasn’t about winning it was about control and listening.👏
As usual, we end our sessions with shooting practice, but this week, some of the children wanted to take turns in the goal.
💫⚽️ We have space for more 5-11 year old children to join us at Comets on a Sunday morning from 9.30-10.30am.
We are an inclusive club and these sessions are to welcome all children to come and play grassroots football. 💛💙
If you have or know a child who would be interested, drop us DM for more info. We would love to see you.
What another fantastic week for Garforth Villa 💛💙

Fantastic match report from our Girls U12 Yellow manager Neil: "What a performance! Battled every minute, led twice and played our best football.
Gutted to concede right at the end - but so proud of how we stood up to an unbeaten side. 👏
Huge progress on show: physical, brave, sharp, and putting training into action. Every single player gave everything. We are getting stronger week on week - that’s what matters most!"
Well done Girls 💛💙
Great to hear from Coach Becky about our Women Teams training night yesterday. 🦚🦉
Owl's goalkeeper Jane shone in training - getting fantastic 1:1 coaching from Anna, who’s not only Peacocks’ keeper but also Grimsby Town’s Women Goalkeeper Coach.🥅
The more experienced side lifting up our beginner Owls team, sharing skills and confidence.💪
Huge thanks to Anna for giving her time and expertise - Jane, you were brilliant!
📸 All the very best with the first league match this Sunday for our Owls. 💛💙
