A local Installer of the month entry for us this time from Mike at Aerial Services - Exeter

This property has older style solar panels with a 40 mm deep frame, so Mike used our clear Defender Solar Panel Excluders to prevent pigeons from gaining access underneath the array.

Pigeons nesting beneath solar panels can cause several problems, from damage to wiring and a build up of nesting debris to guano across the panels themselves. Professionally proofing the array helps protect the panels and can contribute to keeping them working effectively for longer.

Made from clear UV stabilised polycarbonate, these excluders are virtually invisible once installed against the light coloured panel frames. The prongs prevent pigeons from returning underneath while still allowing essential airflow around the panels.
Mike completed the installation by fitting Defender Curved Ridge Spikes along the half round ridge tiles. The integral stabilisers hold each strip securely in the perfect central position while the silicone cures and make it extremely difficult for pigeons to move the spikes.

Once displaced from beneath a solar array, pigeons will often gravitate towards the nearest convenient perch. Proofing the full length of the ridge prevents this from becoming their new perching place and encourages the birds to move on to a more accessible location elsewhere.

Thank you to Mike and Aerial Services for choosing Defender Bird Spikes and sharing this thorough installation with us for our Installer of the Month competition.

If you have a property in Exeter or the surrounding area that needs professional protection against pigeons, give the team at Aerial Services a call.
