Exeter Ceilidhs
EXETER CEILIDHS is a season of ceilidhs / barn dances featuring local bands and callers, open to all. For more details see https://exeterceilidhs.net/
They are on Saturdays between 8 - 11pm, monthly from autumn to spring. Public ceilidhs on the last Saturday of every month except July and August.
It was brilliant to have Crazy Goat Traditional Music join us last night to kick off the 24/25 ceilidh season. This is their first time playing for us and they didn’t disappoint, with a varied set of both dances and music, sometimes at a speed that challenged the dancers on the slippery floor! (We were at a different location to normal). We also had a show spot from Aurora Appalachian, who were also full of energy. Next month we return to the Kenn centre with Slack ma Girdle, event coming soon.

We had a packed hall of nearly 100 dancers tonight, twirling and galloping and stomping and giggling to Chris Jewell’s charismatic calling and Amber Fine’s professional music.
The next ceilidh is on 30th March with Chris Toyne, but the week before on 23rd March that we have a contra (American style dance).

We have a lovely full hall this evening for Vertical Expression who came all the way down from Sheffield for us.
Staffordshire Knot with Stick the Fiddle: A difficult dance to retain a sense of direction!
Boston Tea Party with Stick the Fiddle: Always a crowd pleaser this one, the dancers threw themselves into it.
