📢 Scottish Government Issues New FAQs on Non-Domestic Rates Evidence Window

The Scottish Government has now published official FAQs for self-catering operators affected by the 2023–24 Non-Domestic Rates Annual Declaration of Occupancy.

Between 4 November and 5 December 2025, operators will have a time-limited opportunity to provide or confirm evidence to their local Assessor showing that their property met the required letting criteria:

✔️ Available to let for at least 140 nights
✔️ Actually let for at least 70 nights during the 2023–24 financial year

The FAQs explain what operators should do if:

➡️ They believe they met the letting requirements but were moved to Council Tax
➡️ They submitted information previously and now need it reconsidered
➡️ They no longer appear on the roll and need to find their Assessor Reference
➡️ They need to submit evidence or respond to requests for additional information

🗓️ Important: Assessors cannot consider evidence submitted after 5 December 2025, so please ensure your records are complete and ready.
