🎶📚 Get ready to Read to the Beat! 🎶📚

The 2026 Summer Reading Challenge is officially here.

How it works?

• Runs from end of June till End of August

• Open to all primary aged children

• Come and visit us to sign up for free and grab your reading tracker

• Children to read any 6 Library books of their choice

• Children should borrow books on their own library card

• Books can be read in library but must be issued to a library card

• Let the librarian know every time you have finished reading a book, to keep your challenge record up to date and get a sticker

• Don’t forget to collect your medal and certificate after finishing the challenge

On 23rd June 2026 we will be joined by award winning author Michael Lee Richardson!

Michael will be talking to teens and young adults about his writing and television productions.

Make Music Day : An Evening with Nobby Clark

Join us in celebrating Make Music Day at Newington Library on Monday 22nd June at 6pm for a laid-back chat with Nobby Clark, the original lead singer of the Bay City Rollers. Hear all about his life in the music business and get a glimpse into his autobiography straight from the man himself.

Whether you're a long time fan or just curious about the music scene, this is a great chance to hear stories and insights from a true rock legend in an informal setting.

Do you love to craft? Sew? Knit? Crochet? Show off something homemade in our FASHION SHOWCASE! We're hosting a runway night on Monday, 22 June from 6-7:30. Anyone of any age can show off something they have handmade - clothing, accessories, items, you can be creative! It is FREE to participate in and tickets are FREE as well! No craft is too small or too beginner for us...we want to see what you've made!
