Ravelrig RDA

This was a familiar sight, when we had to cancel up to one third of riding sessions per year due to inclement weather. Thankfully a thing of the past but it’s a useful reminder of how the hard work which went into our indoor arena building project.

If you are a participant, volunteer or supporter of Ravelrig RDA and would like to be part of a collection of video clips to be sent to and perhaps be used by Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) then join us at Ravelrig RDA on Saturday 10th October between 12.30 and 1.30pm. Remember to wear your purple Ravelrig sweatshirts 👍

‼️ New Land Update ‼️

Preparations for the new turnout area on our new land at Ravelrig RDA are progressing well. Although the initial plan was to begin using the field this week, turnout of the horses will now commence next Wednesday to allow final works to be completed safely and to a high standard.

Recent and upcoming activity includes:

• Hardcore Installation: Forty tonnes of hardcore will be placed along the main walkway to the field and at the lower gated access point.

• Site Safety and Compliance: A corporate volunteer team will be on-site this week to (with appropriate guidance and support) remove ragwort and install all required electric fence signage.

• Infrastructure Improvements: The new water pipe has been installed, and the hard wired electric fence pulser is due to arrive shortly.

The project is now entering its final stages, and we are very close to completion . Thank you to Nikki, our Manager for her hard work, support and coordination of volunteers in making this happen. Please contact Nikki if you would like more information.

Thank you to Mobile Vet Scotland for your very generous support providing discounted medication for Buddie and Oreo. Max also says a big thank you for his slow feed hay ball. Your support is very much appreciated.
