Two Sides, One Method

At first glance, entertainment and marketing & advertising may seem like two very different worlds.

To us, they are not.

Checkmate Communication was born and has grown precisely at the intersection of strategy and storytelling: between the ability to build a message and the ability to turn it into an experience that engages an audience.

On one side, we work in entertainment: film and series, animation, theatre, documentaries and docufilms. We follow projects from creative development through production and executive production, shaping their language, identity and path.

On the other, we continue to do what has always been part of who we are: marketing and advertising, B2B and B2C. Strategy, branding, campaigns, branded content, digital, PR and events for companies, products, services and institutions.

Two distinct areas, then.
But not two separate identities.

In cinema, strategy is essential to understand who we are speaking to.
In advertising, storytelling is essential to be remembered.
A brand needs a vision. A film needs an audience.

It is precisely in this shared space that we do our best work.

We do not want to choose between creativity and strategy, nor between communication and entertainment.

We have chosen to make them work together.

Because languages change, media change and markets change, but our work remains the same: finding the most effective way to turn an idea into something that truly reaches people.
