**CURRIE LIBRARY TEMPORARY CLOSURE**

WED 6th May 5pm & THURSDAY 7th May 10-5pm

To support the Scottish Parliament Elections, Currie Library will be used as a polling station on Thursday 7th May 2026 and will be closed to all library services.
It is also necessary to close the library from 5pm on Wednesday 6th May to support the set up of the polling station.

The library will reopen as normal on Friday 8th May 2026.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause during this time. Your nearest library during closure will be:

With the help of our Duke of Edinburgh volunteers from Currie High School we have made a lovely space for our children’s readers to hang out. It’s the Cool Kids Reading Nook! Come and visit us soon.

Let’s also congratulate them on completing their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh volunteering at Currie library. Thank you for all your help.

**NEW EXHIBITION** We have a wonderful photography exhibition by Bob Douglas running till June 8th 2026 "Butterflies, Wildlife and views of the Pentlands". Come and see this unique display and discover the wildlife and ecology that is local to our doorstep. We also have fantastic books for adults and children on the subjects of the exhibition. ** Please share**

Diving into dystopian this month, with two exciting book!!

Our first book comes from one of the Teen Book Group's favourite authors, Josh Silver. Happy Head follows Sab into a radical treatment designed to solve the teenage unhappiness epidemic. 🌃💊

Our other book is Electric Life by Rachel Delahey. An exploration into a supposed "utopia" where everyday experiences have been erased, in favour of an immaculate, sanitised, connected environment where everything is channelled through the digital medium. 🪸⚡️
