Edinburgh Food Project
Edinburgh Food Project
Emergency Food For Local People in Crisis. Individuals are only referred from professional front line care agencies.
.
Due to changes in the benefit system, redundancy or debt, individuals and families can find themselves having to choose between food, electricity and rent. Edinburgh Food Project runs foodbanks in the North West, Centre and East of Edinburgh and can provide people with short-term emergency food parcels whilst the crisis is addressed.
It's Week.
Across Edinburgh, people are facing crisis. Our food banks and advice teams are working flat out, but charity alone can't fix this.
Today's theme is Social Security, and our message is simple: social security must match what life actually costs.
We're calling on the UK Government to act. Share this post to add your voice.

At our Craigmillar Community Hub based inside the Thistle Foundation, in addition to our foodbank, we also host drop-in services.
These are run by other organisations in the city, offering tailored support to the community. Drop-in services do not require referrals and are open to everyone, regardless of where they live or whether they use the foodbank.
This month, you can find The Salvation Army United Kingdom and Ireland Territory, Changeworks, VOCAL Edinburgh, AdvoCard, Turning Point Scotland, APEX Scotland, The City of Edinburgh Council and Places for People Scotland.
Please share as someone else may find the services available helpful.

A first for us!
We made our way to the Volunteer Edinburgh Recruitment Fair earlier this week, to talk about our work and the volunteering opportunities available across our organisation.
It was great to be at the event alongside other fantastic charities doing life changing work in the city. If you missed us, don't worry! You can still get involved by contacting [email protected] - we're always on the look out for people to help at our warehouse, food banks, food collections and more.
