Colin has made an annual trek North to play at MFSB a few times now, so passionate is he about the MFSB nights and crowd where he can immerse himself deep into his love of all things MOBO. As one of the main protagonists in the emerging jazz funk scene in the late 1970s, Colin became part of the top tier DJ line-ups at the all dayers, clubs and weekenders such as Caister and the famous Goldmine on Canvey Island etc, playing alongside his good friend Paul Oakenfold and other luminaries such as Pete Tong, Chris Hill, Trevor Fung, Bob Jones, Nicky Holloway and the legendary Froggy to name just a few. Other clubs where Colin made his mark or played have included Heaven, Pacha, The Palladium in New York and the incredible Zouk in Singapore but MFSB is still to this day is one of his favourite gigs to date because of our musical direction. His nights at Flicks in Dartford are stuff of legend though and a night that won numerous awards including Best Club in 1984 and 1985 in Blues & Soul Magazine, which was the equivalent of DJ Mag and Mixmag back in the day. Colin was also voted as Best DJ in Blues & Soul in in 1984 and 1985 AND as Best DJ in Black Echoes two years on the bounce in 1984 and 1985. He joined Paul Oakenfold on the famous Zoo TV Tour with U2, playing at huge stadiums around the world and Colin was resident at the legendary Spectrum Club also, again alongside Paul Oakenfold. Colin never sold out though, commercial success was not what drove Colin, it was Colin's passion for black music, a passion that has NEVER waned, it's just developed and expanded. He now fills his sets with soulful and underground house music but you might jus' hear the odd jazz funk or disco classic chucked in to spice things up a lil'. Don't take our word on Colin's C.V. though, google the mother fu**er and read jus' how influential this guy is. We look forward to yet another DJing master class from this Bonafede legend as he graces the hallowed decks at MFSB alongside Yogi once again.

Back to the roots of house music this coming Saturday with vocal, soulful, and feel good house music for the next MFSB. THIS is in ze box

WE ARE BACK! We’ve had a refurb which includes a NEW dancefloor, NEW and upgraded wiring to compliment the NEW sound system, NEW seating, and a larger dancefloor as we’ve taken a hammer to some walls. For our first party back we are inviting local hero and in demand DJ Marco Capozzella to join resident Yogi Haughton for a vocal, soulful house, gospel house and garage special. We will be dropping classic house out of the “real house” crates which will include your favourite sounds from venues such as The Southport Weekender, Paradise Garage, The Loft, The OG H***h and Club 9, The Shelter, Body & Soul, The Warehouse in Chicago and from labels such as Strictly Rhythm, Emotive, Bottom Line, Sub-Urban, Crash, Henry Street, Cardiac, Nervous, Easy Street, Freetown, Hi-Bias, Basement Boys, Guidance and Ibadan to name jus’ a few. It’s gonna be a day of pure soulful, deep and funky ass s**t!!
