You cannot store fat on your body unless insulin is elevated.

Trust me when I say this, it's got very little to do with the amount of calories you eat.

As a type 1 diabetic, I could literally eat 10k calories per day and not gain body fat if I decide to not inject insulin.

However, that would also eventually lead to my death.

Eat foods that keep your insulin levels at baseline, such as meat and vegetables,

And I promise you, you'll struggle to gain weight.

This all comes down to insulin resistance from eating an abundance of carbohydrates, specifically sugar to be more precise, for years and years.

If you're carrying excess body fat,

You have some degree of insulin resistance.

So what does this mean?

When you eat a meal containing carbohydrates, your body will utilise more insulin to process the carbohydrates within that meal,

And your insulin levels will also be elevated for a longer period of time.

Elevated insulin levels is also the reason you struggle to lose body fat.

Someone who is insulin SENSITIVE can eat the same meal containing carbohydrates, their insulin levels will rise a little to process the carbohydrates,

And then return to normal after about 90 minutes.

Elevated insulin, from an overconsumption of carbohydrates and processed foods is the primary driver of developing insulin resistance.

The solution?

Simple.

Control your carbohydrate consumption,

Stay away from ultra-processed foods,

Eat your meat and veggies.

Once your insulin levels normalise, the fat will melt off you.

The old way of losing bodyfat:

Restrict calories
Keep within a calorie deficit
Fight hunger cravings
Endless hours of cardio throughout the week

You want to eat more, but my fitness pal says you've only got 125kcals left to use up.

Not really enjoyable is it?

The New (not so new) way:

Limit sugar and processed foods
Focus on REAL food rich in protein and fats
Lift weights 3-5x week
8-10k steps daily

Stick to the latter and you'll not only see the fat melt away,

You'll improve your energy, mental focus, sleep quality, muscle and joint pain will disappear too.

You will completely transform your health for the better.

The most effective way to burn bodyfat is to control insulin.

Control insulin by making better choices with the food you eat.

Cut out processed crap with added sugar, artificial ingredients, seed oils etc

Get your carbohydrates from vegetables only.

Prioritise protein and fats.

Watch your waistline shrink and fat melt away.

Are you still knocking back a bowl of cereal in the morning?

You could do your body a serious favour and just stop.

Read the ingredients on the back of the box if you need a reason to.

Start making a breakfast with natural ingredients.

Option 1:

Full fat greek yogurt with nuts and berries.

Option 2:

Bacon and eggs.

Personally I prefer option 2 due to the higher protein content.

We've been conditioned to eating cereal for breakfast for so long which is why when you think of eating breakfast, you naturally imagine sitting down to a bowl of cereal.

Just think about what all that sugar, the additives, chemicals and E-numbers are doing to your health.

It's really not worth it.

Put a little bit of thought behind your morning routine and if you're the type of person that enjoys eating breakfast,

Give one of the options above a bash.
