Up first at 10am we have our P7 festival of rugby

Then at 1pm the Main Event, the 55th McKenzie Skip Hire Penicuik 7’s.

Following the final whistle there is live music in the club house to enjoy from Gary Alexander

We hope to welcome as many down to watch as possible, food and drink are available throughout the afternoon and live pitchside music from Crystal FM 107.4 👍🏼

🔴 THE ENG BALL 2022 ⚫️

We hosted our inaugural Eng Ball on Monday at Ghillie Dhu. A great showing from the club, with more than 100 guests attending to celebrate a brilliant year. 🎉

A huge thank you to The Ghillie Dhu for great hospitality and delicious food, The Ceilidh Experience for the brilliant love music and of course, The Golf Tavern for showing up in force.

Awesome end to semester 2, more to come in the 7’s season so stay tuned.

🔴 Doddie Day, March 2022 ⚫️

On Sunday the 6th of March 2022, The Engineers RFC will be teaming up with Edinburgh University Medics RFC to raise awareness and fundraise for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.

The Doddie Weir Foundation, led by one of rugby’s most recognisable personalities and talents, focusses on research into Motor Neurone Disease and support for those facing the disease.

The Engineers will play The Medics in a friendly fixture on Sunday 6th of March, followed by a charity social hosted by our sponsor The Golf Tavern.

We hope to see as many members, friends, family and guests that we can for a day of rugby and fundraising for an amazing cause!

Edinburgh Engineers RFC Doddie Day Help Alistair Newson raise money to support My Name'5 Doddie Foundation

Conscious Edinburgh invited us down to a mental health training course that ran over the weekend. Josh Gard went as our club representative and had a few things that he wanted to share.

There is a stigma surrounding mental health, in particular su***de, especially in sport. A lot of players try and ‘tough it out’ rather than reaching out for support. Together we can destigmatise su***de and allow it to be honestly talked about and only then can we help all those affected.

If anyone isn’t feeling great or just wants a chat don’t hesitate to reach out to Josh or any one of the committee members and we will do our best to help.

Other resources available include nightline and talking to your GP. Look out for your mates, check in on them and let them know that you are there to help.

So, we hit £4000!

Thank you to everyone who has donated and supported one of our players, as a club we are blown away that we’ve managed to raise over £4,000

A huge thank you to everyone who made it down to our Movember Pub Quiz, we hope you enjoyed yourselves. Through quiz entry, raffle tickets and the committee auction we raised £466, pushing us into the 4k territory!

That was fast… 😳

The Eng aren’t slowing down with the Movember efforts.

We have managed to raise another £1000 in two days 🎉

… guess we’ll have to raise it to £4000.
