☕ Loneliness Awareness Week 💛
Connection is at the heart of what we do - and our Community Cafés are a great example of this in action.
These cafés bring tenants together from across our developments, often welcoming friends from the wider community too. The result is a warm, friendly space where people can relax, chat and build connections. 💬
We’ve loved seeing so many of these cafés take place recently - details of our next one coming soon!
Through initiatives like this, we’re helping to create communities where people feel connected, supported and never alone.

Your photos could feature in our 2027 calendar! 📸
We’re inviting Bield tenants to take part in something special – the 2027 Bield calendar. Each year we create a calendar to share across our developments, and this time it could include your photos!
Photos do not need to be Bield-related – we’d love to see anything that’s meaningful to you. Whether it’s a beautiful view, your garden, a favourite place, a day out, or a special moment with friends 💛
✨ What we’re looking for:
• Nature and the seasons
• Your local area or further afield
• Community life
• Moments that make you smile
📱 Top tips:
• Use your phone (no fancy camera needed)
• Take photos in good daylight
• Landscape (wide) shots work best
📅 Send your photos to [email protected] by Wednesday 30 September 2026, including your name and development.
Selected photos will feature in the calendar, with a small prize and a special mention!
We can’t wait to see your world through your lens 📷

You’re never too old to learn something new! 🎶
Tenants at Pentland View, our Retirement Housing development in Livingston, recently picked up the ukulele.
It’s been wonderful to see everyone getting involved and enjoying something new together.
Now the big question… can you guess which songs they learned? 🎸👇

Tenants at Camperdown Court, one of our Retirement Housing with Meals developments in Dundee, were flying the Saltire at a Scotland-themed BBQ this week! 🏴🌭 With Scotland's first World Cup match kicking off on Sunday, everyone was in great spirits and ready to cheer on the national team. Good luck Scotland!!! ⚽

Have you thought about putting a Power of Attorney (PoA) in place? 💭
A PoA is a legal document that lets you choose someone you trust to make decisions on your behalf if you’re ever unable to. This could include your finances, health and wellbeing.
Putting one in place means:
✔️ Your wishes are respected
✔️ Someone you trust can step in quickly
✔️ Your loved ones avoid lengthy legal processes
It’s not just for later life – it’s about planning ahead at any stage.
You can choose more than one attorney, and even change or cancel it if your circumstances change.
For advice, speak to a solicitor or Citizens Advice, or find out more here:

At Coxton Gardens, our Retirement Plus development in Garthamlock, Archie recently celebrated his 90th birthday 🎉
A proud Scot with a love for family stories and piping, staff wanted to mark the occasion in a way that felt personal to him. Knowing he prefers things low key, they organised a small surprise – complete with a piper-themed cake and decorations.
Archie was touched to see so many familiar faces, including staff who came in on their day off and friends he’d made along the way.
A warm celebration filled with laughter – and a lovely way to honour Archie’s 90 years and the stories he continues to share 💛

This Carers Week, we’re celebrating the dedication of our incredible care teams 💛
Following an unannounced inspection back in March, six of our Glasgow Independent Living Retirement Plus developments – Carntyne Gardens, Castlebank Gardens, Coxton Gardens, Dundas Court, Kintail Gardens and Loch Laiden Court – all achieved Grade 5 (Very Good) in both areas assessed.
Inspectors found that tenants feel safe, supported and enjoy a strong sense of community, with communal meals playing a key role in bringing people together.
They also praised our staff for their kindness, strong relationships with tenants and families, and personalised approach to care.
This recognition reflects the compassion and commitment our carers bring every day. Thank you for everything you do 💛
