Fancy some real Hammond on your recording? Send me your recording and I'll add that classic sound Once you're happy with it, I'll record it with the real thing.

Bands and songwriters - give your song a classic feel with an authentic Hammond Organ! If you've already got a sampled keyboard just send me an mp3 of your song and a midi file of your keys. I'll re-record your pretend organ with a real Hammond C3 (king of all Hammonds) and send you hi-res wav files for you to drop back into your mix. If you haven't got keyboard parts yet but you'd like some just

Ikimasho! “(Let’s Go!” in Japanese!) What can I say? It was marvellous, with the best music played by my favourite DJ, Rich Shearer and his musical partner in crime, Kerr.

I would have said something earlier, but I’ve been crippled with stomach pain for weeks. Since before the club even 🤦‍♂️. Gall bladder the Doctor thinks!

Great to be able to dance to my favourite kinds of music in the centre of town without having to find the venue in a wee village I can’t get home from without expensive taxis (with all due respect to clubs in wee villages!).

Rich and Kerr shared the record playing duties with Rich playing gritty / funky soul, a bit of Northern, Ska, some Hip Hop (the jazzy stuff), Acid Jazz, some 5:30 etc. and extremely groovy 60s Japanese music that we never get to hear, here and is incredibly overlooked. Kerr played mainly Deep House. The club reminded me of Edinburgh’s much missed, legendary club, “Modern Lovers” and much effort was put into supporting local, homegrown bands and artists too.

A lot of lovely, and very friendly girls from the Karate club that Rich trains came along, so I ended up having to dance with them all night. It was tough but it was the least I could do as they’d made the effort to come 😂. And I never let anyone down.

Massive thanks to Rich and Kerr for the excellent night out and putting in so much effort. So glad I wasn’t away playing that weekend as I usually miss things I’d like to support in Scotland. Thanks to everyone (anyone?) who shared or even just liked my posts promoting the club.

The good news is that they’re doing it all again on the 6th June at the Waverley Bar on St. Mary's Street. Sadly (for me, probably not for the Karate club girls 😂), I’m away playing 4 gigs down south so I’ll miss it. Don’t you make that mistake!

Uncle Ernie!

1990. "Uncle Ernie" playing the huge organ in Perth City Hall before a gig with The Shadowland. Always a good gig in Perth whether it was The Second Generation (awful name I know), The Shadowland, Groove Tunnel or Modus.
