In this truly inspirational Talk, Matthew shares his journey of being a survivor of childhood sexual abuse to an activist and writer addressing the issue at an international level. It is an attempt to raise awareness of sexual abuse of children - boys and girls, associated issues of shame, silence, impact on survivors, legal recourse and directions towards recovery. Please join me for my presentation at the ‘In Conversation’ event series hosted by the Moray house School of Education and Sport on Friday 13 September 2019 from 01:15 pm – 4:00 pm. I will be talking about trauma-informed mental health interventions across different cultural contexts, highlighting examples from some of my recent work around psychological trauma in Scotland, Ethiopia and India.
