We do more than just take the stage! While you usually see our theatre and musical performances here, there’s another side to Singing Willows that’s very close to my heart.

For the past year, I’ve been running after-school drawing and creative writing workshops for primary school kids at James Gillespie’s in Edinburgh. As a published children’s author and illustrator, teaching young minds how to dive into their creativity and bring their imaginations to life is pure magic.

Just look at what we made together! 📚🎨

Each child wrote and illustrated their very own story, and together we compiled them into a real, collaborative children’s book. Seeing their faces when they held their work was unforgettable.

I’m thrilled to share that Singing Willows is expanding its creative workshops this year! We’re taking on two new primary schools in Edinburgh, and I can’t wait to start crafting new stories with a whole new group of young creators.

Swipe through to see some of the amazing artwork and stories from our talented James Gillespie’s students! ➡️

We’re still smiling from our incredible Edinburgh Fringe run. To all the children who helped us dream awake this August, thank you! ⭐️💛
