A fabulous weekend of training in Modena. I had the privilege of learning as part of the 6th and 7th dan group, bring taught by Ito Shigeo sensei, Hachidan Hanshi from Tokyo. The 5th dan group was led by Shiya sensei, Hachidan Kyoshi from Hyogo.
This was my first time studying in the senior group and a very different experience to all my past seminars. It feels like things are getting very serious now! Still so much to learn.
A huge thanks to the teachers for their time and effort. A special thanks to Yuki Kanto sensei for excellent translation throughout the weekend, we’d be lost without you. A huge thanks too to the organisers at the Italian Kendo Federation and the European Kendo Federation that made all this happen. And it course to my wonderful wife who joined me in Modena and made the trip extra special.
Back to training tonight in a balmy Edinburgh. Get in touch if you want to know more, next beginners course starts in September!
